The Washington State Patrol’s primary goal is to provide a safe motoring environment for all Washingtonians and those visiting the Evergreen state. Troopers and commercial vehicle officers are responsible for enforcing traffic laws, investigating collisions, and assisting motors on the 17,524 miles of the state’s highways.
Located in Yakima, the heart of Central Washington, SunComm is the Regional 9-1-1 Center responsible for emergency communications. Telecommunicators are responsible for answering emergency 9-1-1 calls county-wide and and dispatching resources such as police officers, firefighters, and paramedics in the City of Yakima and the City of Union Gap. We have a staff of 34 which includes 911 Call-Takers, Telecommunicators, and Admin Staff.
